New injection could take the bite out of wisdom tooth pain
NCT ID NCT05335070
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a special numbing injection called a temporo-masseteric nerve block (TMNB) can reduce pain after wisdom tooth removal. About 20 adults having their lower wisdom teeth taken out under sedation will receive the injection and then report their pain levels and any pain medications they take for one week. The goal is to see if this nerve block helps control pain better than standard care alone.
