NCT ID NCT02615600
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested a daily, non-invasive brain stimulation technique (tRNS) in 30 adults with chronic tinnitus (ringing in the ears lasting over 6 months). The goal was to see if it could reduce the perceived loudness and annoyance of tinnitus. Participants received stimulation to both sides of the brain's auditory areas for 12 weeks, and the main measure was a drop of at least 5 points on a tinnitus questionnaire.
