First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested whether a smartphone-based counseling program could help people with chronic tinnitus (ringing in the ears) as effectively as traditional face-to-face counseling. 42 adults with tinnitus for at least 6 months participated, receiving either app-based or in-person sessions over six weeks. The goal was to see if the app could reduce tinnitus-related distress, depressive symptoms, and sleep problems.
