CLL breakthrough: shorter treatment may be safer and just as effective

NCT ID NCT04722172

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether people with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) can safely stop taking acalabrutinib and obinutuzumab once their cancer responds very well, instead of continuing treatment indefinitely. The goal is to reduce serious side effects and prevent drug resistance. About 55 participants will receive the drugs and then be monitored closely after stopping treatment.
