Summary

This study compares a new surgical technique called TOETVA, which removes the thyroid through the mouth leaving no visible scar, to the standard anterior neck surgery. About 616 adults needing thyroid removal will be randomly assigned to one of the two procedures. The main goal is to see if the new method is as safe as the standard one in terms of early complications like nerve damage or bleeding.
