Scan to recover: QR code education boosts patient readiness after thyroid surgery
NCT ID NCT07669701
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether giving thyroidectomy patients a QR code that links to an educational video can improve their satisfaction and readiness for discharge. Half of the 192 participants will get standard education plus the QR code video; the other half will get standard education alone. Researchers will compare scores on readiness and satisfaction scales between the two groups.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a simple, low-cost way to help thyroidectomy patients feel more prepared and satisfied after discharge.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study focused on patient-reported outcomes, not clinical results. The benefit may be small or not apply to all patients.
