Smartphone app aims to ease Post-Surgery anxiety in thyroid patients

NCT ID NCT05529732

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a mobile app providing education based on the Life Model can help reduce anxiety and improve daily living activities in people who have had their thyroid gland removed for benign disease. About 68 participants will either receive standard discharge instructions or also get access to the app. Researchers will measure anxiety levels and how well patients manage everyday tasks in the days after surgery.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
e-Mobile Application Patient Education for Patients with Thyroidectomy
What this could lead to
If effective, this mobile education approach could offer a simple, low-cost way to help thyroidectomy patients manage anxiety and return to daily activities more smoothly.
What could go wrong
This is a small, single-center trial with 68 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The intervention is educational, so benefits may be modest and depend on patient engagement.
