First seen Mar 06, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at whether removing blood clots from heart arteries during angioplasty, after clot-busting medication, can reduce the risk of death, another heart attack, stroke, or heart failure in the next month. About 3,500 heart attack patients will be randomly assigned to get either standard angioplasty or angioplasty plus clot removal. The goal is to see if the extra step improves blood flow and recovery.
