New drug aims to shrink nasal polyps without surgery
NCT ID NCT07520162
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a drug called tezepelumab in 230 Chinese adults with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps. Participants receive injections every four weeks for six doses. Researchers will measure changes in polyp size and nasal congestion over 24 weeks to see if the treatment helps control the disease.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
tezepelumab (also called TEZSPIRE®)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a new treatment option for Chinese adults with nasal polyps, reducing polyp size and easing congestion without surgery.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase, single-arm study with no placebo group, so results may not prove the drug works better than no treatment. Side effects are possible, and the study is limited to Chinese participants.
