Testosterone therapy may improve quality of life for men with prostate cancer on watchful waiting

NCT ID NCT06733350

First seen Feb 14, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looks at whether testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is safe and beneficial for men with low-risk prostate cancer who are on active surveillance (watchful waiting). TRT is often avoided in prostate cancer due to concerns it might make the cancer grow, but this trial aims to see if it can improve symptoms like low libido and quality of life without causing harm. The study involves 600 men and tracks cancer progression, treatment discontinuation, and symptom scores.
