Summary

This study tests whether adding teriflunomide (a drug used for multiple sclerosis) to standard high-dose dexamethasone works better than dexamethasone alone for adults newly diagnosed with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), a condition where the immune system destroys platelets, causing bleeding. About 132 participants will receive either the combination or dexamethasone alone for 24 weeks. The main goal is to see if more patients achieve a sustained platelet count increase.
