Wrestlers try Brain-Training exercises to heal shoulder pain
NCT ID NCT07588477
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested a new exercise method called Tendon Neuroplastic Training (TNT) in 26 wrestlers with shoulder tendinopathy. TNT uses a smartphone metronome to pace exercises, aiming to improve brain-muscle control. The goal was to see if it could boost shoulder function, balance, and mental performance better than standard exercises.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Tendon Neuroplastic Training (externally paced exercises using a smartphone metronome)
What this could lead to
If successful, this training method could offer a new, non-drug way to improve shoulder function and reduce pain in athletes with tendinopathy.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 26 participants. Results may not apply to non-athletes or other types of tendinopathy. The training requires a smartphone and motivation.
