New device aims to zap shoulder pain without drugs
NCT ID NCT07550543
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether adding pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy to standard physical therapy and spa treatments can reduce pain and improve shoulder function in people with chronic shoulder tendinopathy. Sixty adults aged 18 to 70 with shoulder pain lasting over 3 months will receive either standard care or standard care plus daily PEMF sessions for two weeks. Researchers will measure pain, function, and quality of life right after treatment and again four weeks later.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
pulsed electromagnetic field therapy via a device called Super Inductive System
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a non-invasive, drug-free way to ease shoulder pain and improve function for people with chronic tendinopathy.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 60 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The treatment is added to standard rehab, making it hard to know how much benefit comes from the device alone.
