Brain zaps and exercise: new combo for knee pain?

NCT ID NCT06132412

First seen May 21, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a gentle brain stimulation technique (tDCS) to personalized physical therapy can better relieve chronic knee pain and improve movement compared to physical therapy alone. About 30 adults with knee pain lasting over 3 months will receive either real or fake tDCS during 8 therapy sessions. The goal is to see if targeting both the brain and the knee leads to better results.
