First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) – a non-invasive brain stimulation device
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a new, drug-free way to help people with schizophrenia cut down or stop cannabis use, improving their overall health.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early exploratory study with only 110 people. The effects may be small or temporary, and not everyone may benefit. Brain stimulation can cause mild discomfort or headache.
