Brain scans seek clues to psychosis in Alzheimer's

NCT ID NCT05847192

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at how tau protein buildup in the brain may cause psychotic symptoms like delusions in Alzheimer's disease. Researchers will use PET scans and MRI to compare brain changes in Alzheimer's patients with and without psychosis, as well as healthy older adults. The goal is to better understand the brain mechanisms behind these symptoms, not to test a treatment. About 91 participants aged 65-85 will take part.
