Experimental immune therapy takes aim at pancreatic cancer
NCT ID NCT03192462
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested a new experimental therapy using special immune cells (T cells) trained to attack proteins found on pancreatic cancer cells. The trial included 37 patients whose cancer had returned or not responded to standard treatment, or who chose not to have chemotherapy. The main goals were to check safety and whether patients could complete all six infusions.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
multiTAA specific T cells (immune cells targeting cancer proteins)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new immune-based treatment for pancreatic cancer that targets multiple cancer-specific proteins.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase trial (phase 1/2) with only 37 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The treatment is experimental and not FDA-approved; side effects are possible.
