Summary
This study tested whether using the Systane iLux device—which applies heat and pressure to the eyelids—before cataract surgery could improve dry eye symptoms. Thirty adults scheduled for cataract surgery received the treatment in one eye. Researchers measured changes in tear film thickness and dry eye symptoms from before surgery to four weeks after.
