Experimental combo aims to reignite immune attack on lung cancer

NCT ID NCT07322341

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This phase 2 trial tests whether combining SX-682 (a drug that blocks certain immune-suppressing proteins) with atezolizumab (an immunotherapy) can shrink tumors in people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer that has worsened after chemotherapy and immunotherapy. About 32 adults will receive both drugs and be monitored for tumor response. The goal is to see if this combination can help the immune system fight the cancer more effectively.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

SX-682 and atezolizumab

What this could lead to

If it works, this combination could offer a new treatment option for people with advanced lung cancer who have run out of standard therapies.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-phase trial with only 32 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The drugs may cause side effects or fail to shrink tumors.
