New immunotherapy combo may let older colorectal cancer patients skip surgery

NCT ID NCT06205836

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether immunotherapy drugs (cemiplimab alone or with fianlimab) can shrink or eliminate tumors in older patients (70+) or those unfit for surgery with a specific genetic type of colorectal cancer (MSI-H). The goal is to avoid surgery if the cancer disappears completely on scans and endoscopy. Participants will be monitored for 24 months, and the study tracks both how well the treatment works and any serious side effects.
