First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether a daily supplement called Avmacol Extra Strength, which helps the body produce sulforaphane (a compound from broccoli), could slow the progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in adults with stage 3 or 4 CKD. The study involved 96 participants and was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. The goal was to see if the supplement could reduce markers of inflammation and oxidative stress, and slow kidney function decline.
