First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looked at whether SuJok therapy—a technique that applies pressure to specific points on the hands and feet—can reduce period pain and improve quality of life in young women with primary dysmenorrhea (painful periods without an underlying medical cause). Researchers enrolled 100 female university students who had moderate to severe menstrual pain. Participants received SuJok treatment during their period, and pain levels and quality of life were measured before and after. The goal was to see if this drug-free approach offers a safe, non-hormonal option for managing period pain.
