New score could stop stroke misdiagnosis in its tracks
NCT ID NCT07601659
First seen May 24, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026
Summary
This study aims to validate the Stroke Mimics Score, a tool that uses information collected when a patient arrives at the emergency room to help doctors quickly tell the difference between a real stroke and other conditions that mimic stroke symptoms. Researchers will enroll 1,000 adults with suspected acute stroke across multiple Italian hospitals. The goal is to see how accurately the score can identify true cerebrovascular events versus stroke mimics, which could lead to faster and more accurate treatment.
