First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 04, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests a stimulant drug (methylphenidate) given through an IV to 10 people with severe brain injuries who are in a coma or minimally conscious state. The main goal is to check safety and find the right dose, not yet to prove it works. Researchers hope the drug may help reactivate brain networks linked to awareness.
