First seen Jan 20, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests if applying a steroid during back surgery can lower pain and the need for strong painkillers. About 150 adults having a 1-2 level lumbar laminectomy will be randomly assigned to receive the steroid or not. Researchers will track opioid use, hospital stay length, and pain scores to see if the steroid helps recovery.
