First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests a new stem cell therapy called XS228 for people with recent spinal cord injuries. The treatment uses lab-made nerve cells injected into the spinal fluid to help repair damage. About 60 adults with incomplete paralysis will receive either XS228 or a placebo and be followed for one year. The goal is to see if the therapy safely improves movement, sensation, and bladder/bowel control.
