First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving a stellate ganglion block (a nerve injection) before surgery can improve sleep quality and brain recovery in 25 adults with prolonged disorders of consciousness after brain injury. Participants will have their sleep, brain oxygen levels, and consciousness measured after the procedure. The goal is to see if this simple nerve block can help patients sleep better and potentially wake up more.
