First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a structured physical therapy program (STAT) helps people with severe burns recover better than standard therapy. About 166 adults aged 18-65 with burns covering at least 15% of their body will take part at seven burn centers. The main goal is to see if they can walk farther in six minutes after treatment.

Active substance

physical therapy program

What this could lead to

If it works, this could lead to a standard therapy that helps burn survivors regain mobility and quality of life more effectively.

What could go wrong

This is a mid-stage trial with 166 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The therapy is behavioral, so individual effort and adherence can vary.
