First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tested a low-cost, low-intensity egg freezing protocol (called the Cardinal protocol) against standard high-intensity methods. Researchers wanted to see if the simpler approach could collect a similar number of eggs while reducing costs and time off work. The study involved 168 people aged 18-40 interested in freezing their eggs, and measured egg yield, patient satisfaction, and out-of-pocket expenses.
