First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tested a low-cost, low-intensity egg freezing protocol (the Cardinal protocol) to see if it works as well as standard high-intensity methods. 168 women aged 18-40 who wanted to freeze their eggs chose either the low-cost or standard protocol. Researchers compared the number of eggs retrieved, patient satisfaction, and costs. The goal is to make egg freezing more affordable and accessible.
