Summary
This study aims to find genetic markers that can predict which children and youth (ages 6-24) with depression, anxiety, or OCD may experience behavioral activation—a side effect like agitation or restlessness—when taking SSRI antidepressants. Researchers will analyze DNA from 160 participants in Manitoba to compare those who had this side effect with those who did not. The goal is to develop a genetic test that helps doctors choose safer treatments for young patients.
