NCT ID NCT05912153
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares SPECT-CT and MRI scans to see which is better at diagnosing symptomatic osteoarthritis in the ankle, hindfoot, and midfoot. Researchers will enroll 132 adults with suspected foot arthritis and measure each scan's accuracy. The goal is to determine the most reliable imaging method to guide treatment decisions.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help doctors choose the most accurate imaging test for foot and ankle osteoarthritis, improving diagnosis and treatment planning.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small, single-center study comparing two imaging methods. Results may not apply to all patients or settings, and neither test is a treatment.
