First seen Feb 13, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looks at whether sodium bicarbonate, a low-cost medicine, can work as well as potassium citrate to prevent kidney stones. About 30 adults with a history of kidney stones and low citrate levels will take sodium bicarbonate for a short time. Researchers will measure changes in urine citrate and pH to see if it is a good alternative.
