Friends helping friends: can social ties boost HIV prevention and addiction care?

Summary

This study tests a program called LINKED that uses social networks to encourage people who inject drugs to start HIV prevention medication (PrEP) and medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD). About 398 people in Los Angeles will take part, with half getting the LINKED program and half getting standard information. Researchers will check if more participants start and stick with these treatments over 6 to 12 months.
