First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether Snoezelen multisensory therapy — a calming, personalized experience using lights, sounds, textures, and scents — can reduce agitation, depression, and anxiety in older adults with dementia. Sixty participants with mild to moderate dementia will receive either standard care or standard care plus three 30-minute Snoezelen sessions per week for 12 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in mood, behavior, heart rate, and stress hormones to see if this drug-free approach improves well-being.
