New approach aims to close the gap in smoking cessation support for communities of color
NCT ID NCT05671380
Summary
This study is testing whether proactive, culturally tailored outreach can help more Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) adults successfully quit smoking. Researchers are comparing standard care against an enhanced program that actively reaches out to connect 700 eligible participants with proven quit-smoking treatments like counseling and medication. The goal is to reduce smoking-related heart disease and address health disparities by making support more accessible and engaging.
