Could a simpler biopsy replace major surgery for inflammatory breast cancer?

NCT ID NCT07080944

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether a less invasive procedure called sentinel lymph node biopsy can be safely used after chemotherapy in people with inflammatory breast cancer. Traditionally, these patients need more extensive surgery because the cancer is advanced. The study will check how often the sentinel node can be found and track long-term outcomes like cancer return. About 75 women whose cancer responded well to chemotherapy will take part.
