New shortcut for cancer pain relief: no extra scan needed
NCT ID NCT07117032
First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study tests a quicker way to deliver radiation therapy to ease severe belly pain caused by pancreatic cancer. Normally, planning this treatment takes a week or more because a separate CT scan is needed. Here, doctors will use the patient's existing diagnostic CT scan to plan the radiation, aiming to deliver pain relief in fewer visits. Only 5 adults with advanced cancer and severe pain will take part to see if this faster approach works safely.
