AI-Created patient data could speed up rare kidney disease research

NCT ID NCT07016282

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study looks at whether computer-generated health data can help researchers study autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) without needing as many real patients. Researchers will take real medical records from 100 adults with ADPKD and use AI to create fake but realistic datasets. They will then test if these fake datasets can be used to design better clinical trials while protecting patient privacy.
