Shoulder surgery showdown: which fix keeps the joint in place?

NCT ID NCT05705479

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study compares two common surgeries for people who repeatedly dislocate their shoulder. One is a keyhole repair (Bankart procedure), sometimes with an extra stitch (Remplissage). The other is a more involved open surgery (Latarjet) that moves a piece of bone to stabilize the joint. Researchers will track shoulder function and how often dislocations come back over two years in 114 adults aged 18-50.
