Summary

This trial tests whether a shorter muscle cut during a procedure called POEM works as well as a longer one for people with type II achalasia, a condition where the esophagus fails to push food into the stomach. Fifty participants will be randomly assigned to receive either a short or long myotomy. The study measures symptom improvement, procedure time, complications, and recovery, with follow-up at three months.
