Summary
This study tests whether adding shockwave therapy to a tailored exercise program reduces pain and improves function in people with Achilles tendon pain. Two hundred adults with pain in the mid-portion or insertion of the tendon will be randomly assigned to exercise alone or exercise plus six shockwave sessions. The trial also examines changes in tendon blood flow and immune cells, aiming to understand why some cases persist.
