Summary
This early study tested whether combining shockwave therapy with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections can improve erectile function in men with microvascular erectile dysfunction. What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Shockwave therapy and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a non-drug treatment that improves erectile function by repairing blood vessels.
What could go wrong
This is a very early Phase 1 trial with only 59 men, so results may not apply widely. The combination may not work better than placebo, and risks include pain or bruising from injections.
