First seen May 30, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looked at how the brain chemical serotonin works in people with multiple system atrophy (MSA), a rare and serious brain disease. Researchers used special PET scans to measure serotonin receptors in 53 participants, including those with MSA and Parkinson's disease. The goal was to learn more about the disease, not to test a treatment.
