Summary

This study tests whether semaglutide, a drug already used for type 2 diabetes, can improve heart and kidney function in adults with type 1 diabetes. Researchers will measure artery stiffness, insulin sensitivity, and kidney blood flow in 60 participants over the course of the trial. The drug is not yet FDA-approved for this use.
