First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether a scalp block (numbing injection in the scalp) can reduce severe headache and the need for strong painkillers in patients who had a brain bleed from a burst aneurysm. About 22 adults in intensive care will receive either standard care plus the scalp block or standard care alone. The main goal is to see if the block lowers opioid use in the first 24 hours.
