Gene test guides treatment for rare salivary gland tumors
NCT ID NCT02069730
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether analyzing the genes of a person's salivary gland tumor could help doctors pick a more effective drug. 114 people with advanced or returning cancer joined. First, their tumor was genetically profiled. Then, if a targetable gene change was found, they got a drug matched to that change; if not, they got a different drug called Selinexor. The goal was to see if matched therapy could shrink or control the tumor better. The study is complete, but results are not yet reported.
