First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looked at whether donated livers that were not perfect (called extended criteria donor livers) could be safely used for transplant after being treated with a special machine that pumps fluids through them. The goal was to see if these livers would work well and last a long time in patients who needed a new liver. The study followed 143 patients and checked how many livers were still working and how many patients survived over time.
