RSV prevention showdown: vaccine for moms vs. antibody for babies

NCT ID NCT07251972

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study compares two methods to prevent RSV, a common and serious lung infection in babies. One method gives a vaccine to pregnant women, so antibodies pass to the baby. The other gives a direct antibody shot to newborns. The study will track which method leads to fewer emergency room visits for bronchiolitis in about 1050 full-term babies.
