Summary

This study compares two local anesthetics, ropivacaine and lidocaine, for patients with end-stage kidney disease undergoing arteriovenous fistula surgery to prepare for dialysis. 40 adults are randomly assigned to receive one of the two medicines during the procedure. Researchers measure pain levels, surgery time, complications, and how well the fistula works over 5 years. The goal is to find which anesthetic provides better pain control and improves long-term surgical success.
