Dentists test three sealers to find the most comfortable root canal
NCT ID NCT07608939
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares three different root canal sealers—AH Plus, ProRoot Bio Sealer, and BC Sealer ion+—to see which one leads to the least pain after treatment. About 135 adults with irreversible pulpitis in a lower molar will be randomly assigned to one of the three sealers. Patients and the pain assessor won't know which sealer was used. Pain is measured over a week using a 0-10 scale.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Root canal sealers (AH Plus, ProRoot Bio Sealer, BC Sealer ion+)
What this could lead to
If one sealer consistently causes less pain, dentists may adopt it to make root canals more comfortable.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study (135 people) comparing existing materials, so results may not apply to all patients or change practice.
